【参考解析】注意两个有用的结构：

(1) It pays to do sth  做某事有所值/有回报/很划算  这里的pay与我们人教选修8学的pay off意义相同，= to be worth the effort to do sth。

It pays (=it is worth the effort)  to study the note after every class.每次课后都学习一下笔记对你会有好处的。

It never pays to take risks where human safety is concerned.凡是涉及人身安全时，冒险决不会有什么好处。

(2) do/get it right the first time 一次就做好/做成/成功

So we'd better get it right the first time. 所以我们最好一次成功。

This means that in America you rarely get more than one chance to put forth your version of the facts, so you had better do it right the first time. 这就意味着，在美国，你只有一次说明自己一方事实的机会，所以说你最好在第一次就把这事情做对。
