If引导真实条件句时从句用推测意义的will的两种情况

在真实条件句的预见性条件句中，从句表示的将来情况是前提，前提如能实现，主句所表示的情况就会发生，否则就不会发生。这时，说话人并没有预测从句的情况会发生，或者暗示从句的主语愿意做某事，因此，在这类条件句中，从句动词就不用预测意义或意愿意义的will，通常用一般现在时表示将来时间。但主句却是基于从句的情况而推测出来的情况，所以主句通常需要情态动词（或将来时态）。如：

If you move, I’ll shoot you.

If it rains, the match will be cancelled.

If I press this button, what will happen?

这类句子中，从句也可能是现在完成时或现在进行时。

I will return the book on Monday if I have read it.(www.cpsenglish.com)

The police won’t take your car away if you are sitting in it.

如果if从句表示从句主语愿意在将来做某事，则从句就会用情态动词will表示主语的愿望。如：

If he will come tomorrow, I will talk with him. 如果他明天愿意来，我会和他谈一谈。

除了表示意愿的will可以用于if条件句外，表示预测意义的will也可以用于if条件句，即说话人预测从句的情况极有很能会发生（will表示预测，说话人的信心程度为90-95%）。通常有以下两种情况：

1．If 从句表示无时间意义或习惯意义的预测，可以用will。

1）If drugs will cure him, this drug should do the job.

2）If sugar will dissolve in a hot liquid, this chemical will do so too.

以上从句中的will可用can代替

If drugs can cure him, this drug should do the job.

If sugar can dissolve in a hot liquid, this chemical will do so too.

2．If从句表示现在对将来的情况会发生或不会发生进行预测时，可以用will。

1）If you won't arrive before six, I can't meet you.

= If you won't be arriving before six,…

看样子你六点前不会到的，如果这样的话我就不可能见你了。

2）If the game won't be finished until ten, I'll spend the night at your place.

= If the game is not going to be finished until ten,…

看样子比赛十点前不会结束，如果这样的话我就要在你那里过夜了。
