take it that…的意思与用法

take it that...的意思是“假定……”“猜想……”“认为……”。如：

I take it that we are to leave early. 我想我们动身会很早的。

I take it that you won’t be working tomorrow. 我觉得你明天不会工作了。

I take it that neither of you reads ‘The Times’. 我觉得你们俩都不读《泰晤士报》。

“I take it that you won’t be back for lunch,” she said as they left.“我想你们不会回来吃午饭了吧。”他们离开时她说道。

有时可以省略 that。如：

I take it you’re a friend of the Kellings, Mr Burr. 伯尔先生，想必您是凯林家的朋友吧？

另外，有时还可以单独使用，起类似插入语的作用。如：

You speak French, I take it? 我想你会说法语吧？

“You’ve no objection, I take it?”“Of course not.” “我猜你不会反对吧？”“当然不。”
