问题：这句中的定语从句不仅不符合英语表达习惯，即表示某地存在某物应该用there be句型之外，而且定语从句本身存在语法问题。显然，定语从句中的in it完全多余。

■8. Generally speaking, the poetry of Philip Frenuea bears the first distinctly romantic quality in American literature, but it did not established the trend.（第76页第7-10行）

问题：这句中的did not established应改为did not establish，这是初中学生都不会犯的错误。

■9. Edward Everett and George Ticknor ranked among the representatives of those at first came into contact with European romanticism…（第76页第18-20行）

问题：显然，those at first came into contact应改为those who at first came into contact才符合英语语法。

■10. His travel to Europe brought him not only into contact with romanticism but also the meeting with Sir Walter Scott, one the most important English authors of the period…（第76页倒数第6-4行）

问题：这句话中的one the most important 应改为one of the most important才符合英语表达习惯。
