名词congratulation的四点用法说明

1. 既可用可数名词，也可用作不可数名词。一般说来，表示抽象意义的“祝贺”时，为不可数名词。如：

It is a matter for congratulation. 这是一件可喜可贺的事。

She received a telegram of congratulations. 她收到一份祝贺电报。

He sent her a note of congratulation on her election victory. 她选举获胜，他就寄去了祝贺信。

但用作可数名词时，总是用复数形式，表示祝贺词。如：

Congratulations poured in from everywhere. 祝贺像潮水一样从四面八方涌来。

They crowded round the player with congratulations. 他们围着那个运动员，向他祝贺。

2. 表示因为某事而表示祝贺，其后接介词on，不用for。如：

Congratulations on passing your exam. 祝贺你通过了考试。

My warmest congratulations on your promotion! 我对你的提升表示最热烈的祝贺！

3. 若要加强语气，其前可用deepest（衷心的），heartiest / hearty / sincere（诚挚的），warm / warmest（热烈的）等形容词修饰。如：

My warmest congratulations on your promotion! 我对你的提升表示最热烈的祝贺！

4. 在结婚典礼上，人们可以对新郎说Congratulations，但习惯上不对新娘说Congratulations。
