◆aloud adv. 通常只用作副词,不用作形容词,主要用法有: 1. 强调“出声”,即把话说出来,而不是在心里默默地“说”,通常与动词 read, speak, think 等动词连用。如: read aloud 朗读 think aloud 自言自语地说 2. 表示“大声地”,通常与动词 cry, laugh, shout, call 等动词连用,如: The boy is crying aloud. 这男孩子在大声哭。 She called aloud for help. 她大声呼救。 ◆already adv. 1. 表示“已经”,通常用于肯定句,不用于否定句或疑问句(此时要用 yet)。如: He has already read the book. 他已经读过这本书。 Has he read the book? 他已经读过这本书吗? He hasn’t yet read the book. /He hasn’t read the book yet. 他还没有读这本书。 2. 有时也用于疑问句,但往往含有问话人希望得到一个肯定回答或含有惊讶之意。如: Is he back already? 他就已经回来了? Has she gone to bed already? 她就上床睡了? 3. 一般说来,already 不用于否定句,但它有时可用于否定的条件状语从句中。如: If he hasn’t seen the film already, he may get the ticket. 假若他还未看过这电影,他可以弄到票的。 4. 与 already 连用的时态: (1) 与行为动词的完成体连用。如: He has left already. 他已离去了。 By this time tomorrow I’ll have finished the job already. 到明天这个时候,我将已做完这工作。 (2) 与行为动词的进行体连用。如: They are already working. 他们已经在工作了。 When I came in, he was already laying the table. 我进来时,他已在摆桌子了。 (3) 与持续性动词或状态动词的一般现在时或一般过去时连用。如: It’s already late. 已经迟了。 He already knew about it. 那时他已知道此事了。 ◆also adv. 1. 用作副词,表示“也”,主要用于非肯定句,在句中的位置通常是紧靠动词,即放在行为动词之前,特殊动词之后。 Her mother also came. 她母亲也来了。 He can also speak English. 他也会说英语。 注:有时为了调也放在句末,但不常见。如: Her mother came also. 2. 有时用于句首,相当于连词 and。如: Also, his mother was dead. 再说,他母亲又过世了。 Also he was too tired. 而且他也太累了。 3. not only……but also……(不但……而且……)。如: He speaks not only English but also French. 他不仅说英语而且说法语。 Not only the students but also their teacher likes to read the book. 不仅学生喜欢看这本书,而且他们的老师也喜欢看。 ◆although conj. 不要按汉语“虽然……但是……”的表达习惯,在 although 后连用 but。如: 虽然天很冷,但我们还是去了那儿。 正:Although it was cold, we went there. 误:Although it was cold, but we went there. 但是在强调时,although 可与 yet, still 等副词连用。如: Though he seems happy, yet he is worried. 虽然他看起来很幸福,但他实际上很烦恼。 值得一提的是,在某些特定的语境中,although 与 but 连用的句子是可能的(注:but 引出的句子在 although 从句之前)。如: But I didn’t know that then, although I learned it later. 但我当时的确不知道此事,尽管后来还是知道了。 He wanted to go abroad, but although he had some money he couldn’t afford it. 他想出国,尽管他有些钱,但还是负担不起。 << 上一页 [11] [12] [13] [14] [15] [16] [17] [18] [19] [20] ... 下一页 >> 引用地址: |
